Old beads - new look
Necklace old Bonda glassbeads & Dorjé charm
These necklaces are handmade by the craftswomen from Beads for Life (Nepal). They are made with re-used glass beads from jewellery originally worn by Bonda women. The Bonda tribes live in the hills of Odisha, India. The women only wear a loincloth. Their torsos and heads are covered in strings of colourful beads.
The necklace features a small 'Dorjé' charm; a Buddhist symbol that represents the active, male energy. The necklaces are 80 cm long and a display card of handmade paper is delivered with the jewellery.
