Dhokra Bridal fish | 9-11 cm

Craftsmen from Orissa/Odisha (East India) make these brass statues in the traditional dhokra casting. Dhokra is a special casting technique. A statue is made with very tin wax strings creating the unique pattern. Every statue is unique and a example of tradition and craftmenship. The different dhokra animals represented the village clans.

The bridal fish was used as a gift for the bird, it's belly filled with small coins.
