This small (travel) statue of Buddha Sakyamuni, seated in meditation on a lotus, embodies the wisdom and serenity of the historical Buddha. Also known as the sage of the Sakyas, Siddhartha Gautama took on this title upon attaining enlightenment. The right hand rests on the knee and touches the earth in the bhumisparsha-mudra, symbolizing the moment of enlightenment. Crafted by skilled artisans in Nepal using recycled metals.
