These colourful tesbihs (prayer beads) from Turkey were made from synthetic resin beads by artisans in Istanbul in the 1990s.
The tesbih is used by Muslims to help keep count in prayer. The string consists of 33 or 99 beads for the 99 beautiful names of Allah.
The tasbih is probably based on the Buddhist mala and the rosary in turn on the tasbih. The Greek komboloi (worry beads) are also based on the tasbih.
A set contains 5 different colors.
